Pap Smear Test

A cervical cancer screening procedure known as a Pap smear or Pap test. It examines your cervix for the presence of malignant or precancerous cells. The uterus's entrance is known as the cervix.Your cervix's cells are carefully scraped away during the standard treatment, and any abnormal growth is inspected. Your doctor's office is the setting for the procedure. The discomfort may be slight, but it rarely results in chronic pain.Ask your doctor about getting a Pap test every five years if it is paired with an HPV screening if you are over 25 and have never had an abnormal result from one. Current policiesEvery five years, individuals between the ages of 25 and 65 should get an HPV test. The HPV virus raises the risk of cervical cancer and creates warts. Cervical cancer is primarily caused by HPV strains 16 and 18. Cervical cancer may be more likely to strike someone who has HPV. If a woman has a history of normal Pap smear results and she is above 65, she might not need to get the test in the future.
